San Vigilio is the doorway to Fanes Sennes-Prags Natural Park which are part of the impressive Dolomite mountains. The small village of San Vigilio, located at the foot of the Dolomites and at the entrance to the Enneberger valley, is picturesque. Here, in the northernmost community of the Gadertal, culture meets nature, while the past meets modernity. Amid its dreamlike nature and rich traditions, relaxation and enjoyment are easy to find. The tranquil village of San Vigilio is also the main town of the municipality of Marebbe and is located near Fanes-Sennes-Prags Natural Park. The village has about 1,280 inhabitants and is at an elevation of about 1200 meters above sea level. Here, as in the entire Gadertal Valley, Ladin has been spoken for more than 2000 years.
Pure nature in summer In the summer, numerous hikers and walkers make their way to San Vigilio di Marebbe. From here, countless hiking trails lead to Fanes-Sennes-Prags Natural Park. Mountain bikers also fall in love with the area thanks to the 250 kilometres of trails which pass through unspoiled nature. In fact, San Vigilio is a fixed point on the international Trans-Alp Challenge.
Varied winter fun In winter, San Vigilio turns into a white winter destination which attracts snow lovers for skiing, cross-country skiing, tobogganing, snowshoeing, and touring. Skiers will find excellent conditions on Kronplatz where the infrastructure and slopes are unrivalled.
