Hotel Monte Paraccia

In 1904, Karin Taibon’s grandfather, the head of the house, bought the farm Pauraccia. The name of the farm was later changed to Paraccia. During the post-World War II period, Paraccia Hotel, managed by the Taibon family, started receiving guests for the first time. Back then, there were no asphalted roads leading to San Vigilio and the road to Bruneck was an adventure. Today, Hotel Paraccia still welcomes guests on their summer and winter holidays. Paraccia was the place where the village met to drink a glass of wine and to dance because there was a jukebox in the bar. However, it was not only the jukebox that drew customers. The bar also had the first ping-pong table in San Vigilio. The hotel developed over the years. Karin’s father eventually took over the business after a long stay in Switzerland where he worked in a hotel. Not only did he take over Hotel Paraccia, but he also managed Gani Pe de Munt, which is also part of the family business. Throughout the hotel there are testimonies of the past, which tell the stories of Karin’s father. A walk through the building is like travelling through time. One can see the development of the business and the village, which, unlike other tourist destinations, has had a relatively short history due to its secluded location. Hotel Monte Paraccia is uniquely charming and is one of the oldest houses in Santa Vigil. Over the years, it has been rebuilt and renovated many times, yet a part of the old masonry still exists. Just as the house has grown over the years, an air of hospitality has developed too. Today, your host Karin maintains this passionate tradition.

HOTEL

Hotel Monte Paraccia is located on the sunny side of the village, so while everyone else is turning on the lights, we are still enjoying the sunshine. In summer, it is particularly nice to relax on the deck with an aperitif to watch the sunset. In the winter, you can enjoy the last rays of sunshine in the sun room, relax in front of the fireplace, or watch the snow groomers working the slopes.
